In order to take your test you must:
- Be 16 years old
- Have completed a driver's education course
- Have completed the 6 hour driver's training course (certificate is required)
- Have had your permit for a minimum of 6 months
- Have completed 50 hours of practice with a licensed California driver who is 25 or older. At least 10 of these hours must be done at night. This person must sign your permit to certify the hours.
- You will also be required to provide proof of insurance and registration for the vehicle you will take your driving test in.
